The Clinical Practitioner SIG is a recognised resource for other agencies and is regularly approached to provide specialist advice and expertise in all aspects of blood pressure measurement and the application of new technologies and devices in clinical practice, particularly in special patient groups.  Members also contribute to the development of guidelines and clinical standards and participate in national consultations.

The Competency Framework has been developed by the BIHS Clinical Practitioner Special Interest Group to aid new Hypertension Specialist Nurses in gaining the knowledge and skills required to work safely and competently.
