World Hypertension Day

World Hypertension Day is aimed at raising attention on the importance of better hypertension control. This worldwide activity started by the World Hypertension League (WHL) was first held on 14 May 14 2005, and since then World Hypertension Day has been an ever-expanding yearly event. Its purpose is to communicate to the public the importance of hypertension and its serious medical complications, and to provide information on its prevention, detection, and management.
World Hypertension Day 2026 will be held on Sunday 17 May.

Know Your Numbers! Week

Blood Pressure UK's campaign - Know Your Numbers! week - takes place every September when blood pressure checks are taken by thousands to prevent heart attacks and strokes.

Know Your Numbers! Week reaches those who have high blood pressure and don’t know it, so they can get the treatment and support they need to bring it under control.

May Measure Month

May Measure Month is a global blood pressure screening awareness campaign, launched in 2017 by the founding organisation, the International Society of Hypertension.

The aim is to highlight the importance of measuring your blood pressure (BP) and to raise awareness of the dangers posed by elevated BP and hypertension. Our target is to increase the numbers of participants aged 18+ who are regularly getting their BP checked and to give people the tools to understand how this information can contribute to your knowledge about your individual health. MMM also provides diet and lifestyle advice to those with BP in the hypertensive range and to facilitate improved follow up for sufferers.

May Measurement Month will take place between 01 May – 31 July and builds on the WHL’s established World Hypertension Day (held on 17 May each year) with volunteer health professionals at local screening sites, in more than 90 countries.
