ECR Abstracts

Please ensure you have read the full terms and conditions before submitting your application. Any applications not following the full terms and conditions will be automatically disregarded.

ECR Criteria:

• Students (undergraduate or postgraduate)
• Clinician: In a training-grade post up to and including specialist registrar level but not at consultant or GP level.
• Hypertension Scientist: An undergraduate or postgraduate (Masters/PhD) student or a scientist who has received their PhD within the past five years (allowing for career breaks).
• Anyone having passed specialist registrar level during their career will not be eligible to present in the ECR sessions nor eligible for an ECR award.

Abstract Terms and Conditions

These awards and oral presentations are only open to ECR BIHS Members.

• Mark Glover Award - £1000 towards travel to the Hypertension Australia ASM to give a presentation. Open only to Early Career Researchers who are BIHS members.

• ECR Travel Prize - £500 towards travel to a conference of your choice

These awards are only open to ECRs:

• Robert Grayson Award of £150 for research on the aorta or blood vessels

• Best poster prizes of £100 and publication in the Journal of Human Hypertension (JHH) (subject to acceptance by the JHH)

Any industry or commercial related submissions will incur a fee of £500+VAT and are not eligible for the prizes or oral presentations.

Please ensure you are available to attend both days of the annual meeting if you are asked to give an oral presentation, and also available for the dates of the Australian Hypertension meeting in 2027
