Policy & Guidelines Committee

The BIHS Policy and Guidelines Committee exists to shape the Society’s influence in clinical practice and health policy, by developing authoritative, evidence-based guidance and engaging strategically with decision-makers and stakeholders.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing high-quality guidance for healthcare professionals
  • Reviewing evidence and contributing to national policy consultations
  • Ensuring regular updates to maintain clinical accuracy and relevance
  • To provide resources for health care professionals about hypertension
  • To develop a strategy and to manage and support the Information Service to ensure that it delivers on the above
