Updated Guideline: 'Measurement of adult blood pressure and management of hypertension before elective surgery'

Updated Guideline now available. The joint updated Guideline from the Association of Anaesthetists of Great Britain and Ireland and the British and Irish Hypertension Society has been published on the Association of Anaesthetists website today.

This publication is published exactly 10 years after the original guideline - The measurement of adult blood pressure and management of hypertension before elective surgery Hartle A, McCormack T, Carlisle J, Anderson S, Pichel A, Beckett N, Woodcock T and Heagerty A. - Anaesthesia 2016; 71, 326-337.

The guideline is now covering the peri-operative period, from the decision to operate until 30 days after the operation, rather than the pre-operative period.
